Gestalt hijinks: Level 20 in three caster classes-- by level 17!!

So I was bored and had an amusing thought... A gestalt warlock/cleric/wizard/mystic theurge/eldritch disciple/eldritch theurge. I'm fairly sure this meets all the spell/invocation requirements, as well as the skill caps although I'm not sure how easy it would be to actually get all the neccessary ranks. But the end result is a level 17 gestalt character who has essentially level 20 in warlock, cleric and wizard.

Note that:
The Mystic Theurge requires level 3 arcane/3 divine (level 2 spells of each) and skills ith 6 ranks so can be taken by character level 3

The Eldritch Disciple requires level 3 divine/1 warlock (level 2 spells, only needs least invocations), but requires skills with 8 ranks so can't be taken until after character level 5

The Eldritch Theurge requires level 3 arcane/3 warlock (level 2 spells and 2d6 eldritch blast), but requires skills with 8 ranks so can't be taken until after character level 5.

I've grouped classes together for ease of writing this down, but from level 6 on you can mix up the ordering that you take the prestige classes to advance somewhat equally in each of your classes, and still slowly pull ahead of the curve.

Level 1-3: Wizard 3/Cleric 3
Level 4-5: Warlock 2/Mystic Theurge 2
Level 6-8: Mystic Theurge 5/Eldritch Disciple 3
Level 9-14: Eldritch Disciple 9/Eldritch Theurge 6
Level 16-17: Mystic Theurge 8/Eldritch Disciple 9

Total: Warlock 2/Wizard 3/Cleric 3/Mystic Theurge 8/Eldritch Disciple 9/Eldritch Theurge 9

Arcane: Wizard 3 + Mystic Theurge 8 + Eldritch Theurge 9 = 20
Divine: Cleric 3 + Mystic Theurge 8 + Eldritch Disciple 9 (-1) = 19
Warlock: Warlock 2 + Eldritch Theurge 9 + Eldritch Disciple 9 = 20

EDIT: D'oh! I forgot the eldritch disciple misses a level of divine spell advancement... So Divine should actually be 19. :( Still, that's pretty freaking good, and easily remedied by taking cleric at level 18.

For this reason (and similar) is why the Gestalt rules mention that you should nix gestalt-like PrC's (such as the Mystic Theurge).... and I believe there's also a note about only one side can PrC at a time.....

Yeah, see that's exactly why the gestalt rules expressly state the DM should not allow dual-progression PrCs, and generally only allow progression in one PrC at a given time.

Stuff like that.

Oh pish tosh!

You gotta admit, it's rather amusing...

Only to the extent that making up your own rules to create broken characters is amusing. Personally, I find it rather dull & pointless. Seriously, what's the challenge?

You also cannot combine two prestige classes. :p
And you can't gain two levels worth of the same spellcasting ability at one level either.

Bye
Thanee

Okay, house rule that you can take "gestalt-style" PrCs while gestalting. For fun, lets even house rule that you can take two PrCs simultaneously.

This still doesn't work.

Spells per Day: When a new mystic theurge level is gained, the character gains new spells per day as if he had also gained a level in any one arcane spellcasting class he belonged to before he added the prestige class and any one divine spellcasting class he belonged to previously. He does not, however, gain any other benefit a character of that class would have gained. This essentially means that he adds the level of mystic theurge to the level of whatever other arcane spellcasting class and divine spellcasting class the character has, then determines spells per day and caster level accordingly.

If a character had more than one arcane spellcasting class or more than one divine spellcasting class before he became a mystic theurge, he must decide to which class he adds each level of mystic theurge for the purpose of determining spells per day.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's 34 character levels?
