Funny, did anyone notice they don't want you to make a HUMAN character?

Also, looks like most of it was actually shot in "easern europe" ( which I missed reading the first time around somehow). Sadly, this makes me think of german director Uwe Boll...

Here's the IMDB page for the movie. I don't think I've seen mention about this production before, but it's obviously legit.

Dungeons & Dragons: The Book of Vile Darkness

Directed by Jerry Lively, who did the last D&D movie. This one's also got the same writer as the previous feature, so I imagine there may be more easter egg references to old D&D stuff (hell, the title is a good start in that direction). As an aside, the writer was the second unit director on Emmanuelle: Queen of the Galaxy, which sounds awesome.

Doesn't look like any of the cast mentioned on IMDB are from either of the previous two D&D movies. Which means no Damodar, alas.

Thanks for linking to that!

Also, I think I already see an easter egg... isn't little silver keep a reference to the B3 - Palace of the Silver Princess?

And let's be honest- the second D&D movie was far, far better than the first.

Funny thing - although the second film was in every possible way better than the first, I found that it just wasn't fun. I'd actually be more inclined to rewatch the first one than the second.

I'm afraid I have no hope that the new D&D movie will be 'good'. The best I can bring myself to hope for is that it's not a total disaster. But even then...

This is a bad thing. Another movie by the same people means it's just that much longer before we can get this series rebooted. And that is the only hope I see of us ever getting a good D&D movie. Assuming we don't count "Your Highness", of course.

The fact that they bother asking for the characters level and statistics makes me think there will be a tie-in module for the film featuring your character as an NPC possibly. I bet after submission it probably becomes their Itelectual Property if you're chosen.

Anyone thinking of tossing in their lot? I would for the hell of it but I dont have a DDI sub. I think there's a free version of the Character Builder but I dunno if that'll cut it. Then there's the matter that filming is tentatively in Jan 24 2011. I'm still in school so that (hypothetically like 1/10,000+ chance of winning) would mean putting off a semester? Or rather first few weeks?
