Getting Miniatures painted

Bront

The man with the probe
I'm generaly short on time, artistic tallent, and the equipment to do it. Are there places I can get my miniatures painted for fairly cheap? Or am I better off trying to make the time?

The big problem I have is that I generaly have trouble finding a good color scheme, tend to gloss over minor details (I'm impatient, I'll admit it), and find that it's easier to paint when there's someone else around to do it with, and I don't have anyone around to paint with.

Howdy,

Define cheap. I know of several places, but I want to read what you think is cheap.
Well, I've heard of people having it done at $40-60 a miniature, and that's not cheap. ~$5 or so a figure or less is definately cheap. Between that, it's debatable.

Idealy, someone who can do them in bulk to a point, and I don't care if it's profesional or not, I just would like a fairly good paint job so I can use them and tell them apart a bit easier.

I am interested in learning how much is charged in general though.

Here's a guy in the price range you suggested:
Merdain's Minis

I cannot vouch for the guy at all, but he charges $4 for troop standard, which is outrageously cheap. I suggest sending him 10 figures or so to see of he can paint for the price you want, to a level you can live with. He just lowered his prices to get some business in July so get on his schedule early.

If you can - pay him through paypal and demand a <30 day turn around. That way if you have a problem at least you will have some recourse.

Most painting services charge around $8.00 - $9.00 a figure for gaming quality jobs.

Good luck,

pogre

Thanks. I'm looking for normal fantasy paintings, but this looks like it could work. I'll look into contacting him.

If you know any other services, feel free to post a few links. Never hurts to look around.
