Getting Monster Manual II added to the SRD

Well, most people wouldn't spread it. ;)

On the topic at hand - it would sure be nice if the SRD was updated with, well, anything at all. But honestly, we've been hearing rumbles that the SRD will be updated for years, but we never really saw any indication of it happening. :\ The addition of the epic, divine, and psionic material was pretty much the only addition that ever happened. I somewhat suspect the shouting to add Arcana Unearthed to the SRD (pretty pointless since already mostly open - unless you wanted it for free) may have had some influence there.

Monster Manual 2 is my favorite monster book for 3rd edition. As far as it being a crap-shoot, it has more good monsters than 3 and 4 combined (in my opinion), and it has a lot of my favorite 2nd edition monsters updated.

No argument here. :)

Where are these OGL monsters from other companies being used? It's awesome that they're added to the OGL, but are they getting used in adventures, sourcebooks, campaign settings, etc?

Cheers,
Cam

I've seen Tome of Horrors creatures in Bastion press adventures (in addition to Necromancer Modules). I'm not sure if I've seen any in Goodman Games' Dungeon Crawl Classics modules.

Bastion has used a lot of OGC things in their own products. I know in either Arena or Mysteries of Arena one of the warlords is a reptile race from an MEG source using a prestige class from EN Publishing's Librum Equitis.

Most publishers however don't want to reuse 3rd party OGC, the srd with their own additions is it to keep things simpler for OGL compliance what with wierd PI and OGC declarations in many products and whatnot. Plus many feel sticking to the core D&D stuff is more attractive to a broader audience.

Ahem. You are obviously unfamiliar with Necromancer Games's Tome of Horrors series, as well as Green Ronin's Book of Fiends -- some of the best and most influential d20 monster books out there.

Obiviously. It came out after I lost my last job.
