I've decided to be a Ghostbuster this Halloween. I need to start working on my proton pack and other gear now, so I'm not rushed and harried nearer October.
I've searched the Web for info, I been watching the movie with an eye for detail, and I've started looking around for things around me to use. I've got friends and family who are giving me old electronics for picking apart and finding usable stuff -- cables, wiring, packs, etc. [I have two friends who have a ton of old computer junk that looks like a motherload of usable stuff.]
Has anyone herebuilt Ghostbuster gear or assembled a GB costume? I'm not mechanically skilled, so I'm kind of lost on how to start a proton pack. I'd appreciate any advice, suggestions, and guidance. Even if you haven't done this before, yourself, I'm open to ideas and thoughts if you have some that might help me.
I'd love to have lights and sounds with the pack, but that is beyond my knowledge at this time.
I want this to be as accurate to the "real" stuff as possible. I don't do costumes half-way -- I go as detailed and perfect as I can get.
[Edit: I've got the "night vision" goggles taken care of (not built, yet, but figured out).]
Thanks.
