Giant Hunter

The first gaming session was last night. It looks like Travel Devotion is key to survival for me. As far as damage output, I ended up having to fight BBEG last night (I hadn't planned on it, nor had the DM) who was essentially the 4th level bbn ogre out of the MM. I readied a spell vs. approach and cast SM I for a spider who cast web. The BBEG ran into the web (failed spot check), easily broke free, but didn't have any move to get out of the web. I used the Wand of Hunter's mercy, managed to stay out of range until my next shot, then rapid shot BBEG. The second arrow scored a natural 20 so both of them crit. I hit him for 75dmg, then finished him off the next round.

The DM was pissed.

Then I proceeded to kill the ogres one by one as they poured out of the cave, until they realized that they were just lining up for death and retreated.

One of them managed to get a melee attack off and luckily missed - my 12hp can't stand up to a single swing of an ogre's greatclub.

I left last night with a few questions:

1) What's the duration of the summoned spider's web? Does it remain after the spell wears off?

2) Using Travel Devotion, you can move as a swift action, then have either a move and a standard action, or two move actions. So, I think it's obvious that you can take two move actions, then attack as a standard action. But can you take a move action, make a single attack, then another move action? I.e. does Travel Devotion essentially grant the feats Spring Attack and Shot-on-the-Run for the one minute that it's activated?

Thanks to anyone who can clarify.

Edit: I've also gained two levels and I'm trying to figure out where to place them. I'm strongly leaning towards Ranger for the fact that there are some pretty good ranger spells and an animal companion would add some flavor and interesting combat tactics. It would also get me closer to the prestige classes I'm considering.

But two levels of scout would net me 4 extra SP, skirmish (+d6) [Usefull if I'm closer than I want], uncanny dodge, and trap finding. This is not great, but, if I take Scout at 6th level and Swift Hunter, I get my second favored enemy, skirmish at (+2d6/+1AC), and +10 movement speed. If I take ranger, I get the same thing, minus the movement speed and plus Endurance (and one level closer to spell casting).

Then again, one level of fighter would get me Far Shot which would let me take Deepwood Sniper at 6th level...
