Giant purple turtle can transport itself and other to other planes with ease. Many veteran adventurers track down these onery reptile for a relatively cheap way to planar tranport. This is challenge around level 5-9.

1) Tracking a giant purple turtle.
Wild giant purple turtle tend to stay on a plane for a couple of weeks before traveling to a different plane. This gives you a small window to find it before it leaves. Purbreeds are easier to find but tend to migrate more often. Those mixed with dragon blood are much harded to spot but tend to stay still for longer.
Purebreed giant purple turtles stay in an area for 3d10 days. Mixed giant purple turtle stay for 4d10 days.

Infomation- Skills: Streetwise, Diplomacy, History, Religion, Thievery.
First you need find some who has seen a giant purple turtle recently, attract one with spices, or just steal the info.

Streetwise: Unlimited attempts. Trained only.
A PC can make 2 checks vs a DC 20 to get information about the whereabout of the turtle. DC increases by 5 with each failure.
Success: You get the info and can hunt fo a turtle. Duration: 1 day.
Failure: You fail to get the info. Duration: 1 day.

Diplomacy: 1 attempt
A PC can find someone to guide them to the turtle for a favor or two. 1 check vs DC 25.
Success: Your guide will take to where he saw the turtle last if you do a delivery for him. Duration: 5 days.
Failure: You fail to get the info. Duration: 1 day.

History: Unlimited attempts.
You remember that priests can make a brew that attracts giant purple turples to the plane. DC 10 if trained. DC 30 if not.
Success: You ask priest for the brew. Duration: 1 day.
Failure: You fail to remember the info. Duration: 1 day.

Religion: 1 attempt per temple in the area. Succesful History check required.
A local priest can brew a perfume that will attract a turtle to the plane. 2 checks vs DC 25. DC increases by 2 with each failure.
Success: The priest brews the perfume for 100 gp. Duration: 7 days.
Failure: You fail to get the perfume. Duration: 1 day.

Thievery: 1 attempt
You try to steal a perfume already made by a local priest. Requires 2 PCs. PC#1 1 check vs DC 15. PC#2 3 1 check vs DC 10.
Success: You get the info and can hunt fo a turtle. Duration: 1 day.
Failure: You fail to get the info and can no longer ask local priests for help. Duration: 1 day.

Hunting the turtle- Skills: Arcana, Nature, Perception.
Each player may choose a hunting technique. If all fail, the day passes and the party gets no closer to the turtle. It takes 5 days of successes to find the turtle. After 7 days, a band of hobgoblins and goblins who are also tracking the turtle find and attack the party.

Arcana Trained only.
Track the residual essences left behind by the giant purple turtle.

Special: If you use perfume created by a priest. You take a -2 penalty to this check.

Special: The DC increases by +2 for each day gathering info or failing to get closer to the turtle.

3) Capture the turtle.
Heathly turtles don't take masters without a fight. Bloodied ones sometimes do. Slain ones do. They'd just revive themselves so don't worry.

+11 vs fortitude, 1d6+5 damage and the target is teleports 2 squares

Turtleport (move, 1/round at will) Fear, Fire, Healing, or Psychic
The purebreed giant purple turtle, each of his allies, and each marked enemy in transported to another plane. The purebreed giant purple turtle can only transport to each plane once a day
The Abyss: A carnage demon with 10 HP appears for each transported creature in and unoccupied square within 10 square of any creature. The demon rolls initiative.PCs do not gain experience for killing demons.
The Astral Sea: Each transported creature gains a healing surge. The purebreed giant purple turtle is healed 50 HP.
The Elemental Chaos: Each transported creature loses all resistances and vulnerabilites until they travel to another planer
The Far Realm: Each transported creature is immobilzed by tentacles and is dealt 2 ongoing psychic damage (save ends)
Feywild: Each transported creature is attack by an unknown fey assailant. +10 vs Reflex, 3d6 damage.
The Nine Hells: Each transported creature is dealt 5 fire damage and is dazed until the end of their next turn.
Shadowfell: 4 zombie rotters appear for each transported creature in and unoccupied square within 10 square of any creature. The zombies rolls initiative.PCs do not gain experience for killing zombies.

Return Turtleport (move, recharge when bloodied)
The purebreed giant purple turtle, each of his allies, and each marked enemy in transported to natural world at the orignal location.

Turtleport of Death (when reduced to 0 hit point, daily)
The purebreed giant purple turtle, each of his allies, and each marked enemy in transported to natural world at the orignal location. The purebreed giant purple turtle rises with 20 HP and is friendly to its slayer and it's allies.

Note: The mixed giant purple turtle's Saltwater jet power deals damage of the type of its dragon parent and also speak Dragonic.

With a tame giant purple turtle, you may use the Turtle Portal ritual. The tame giant purple turtle often teaches the ritual to its master.
