Girl dies after kiss from boyfriend

For a while, I thought, "Maybe it was always the same, but we just never heard about it."

That is still a possibility - if there were many child deaths that went unexplained or wrongly explained.

But friends and family working in education tell me they've observed the incidence of peanut and other severe allergies among kids is through the roof.

There is at least some evidence that the tendency to hyper-cleanliness and sterilizing everything around infants is actually harmful. The human immune system needs to be properly initialized through contact with stuff in the environment. Wihtout that initialization, there comes a tendency to react inappropriately - and allergies are, in essence, inappropriate immune system responses.

Similarly, I understand -- from talking to a couple parenting-type folks about this yesterday -- that there's a growing fear that overly extensive and excessive vaccinations may be a contributing factor.

Carl

P.S. I like Anna.

Some people want to find a blame or cause for everything. There maybe a connection but I think if I have kids I would rather run the risk of allergies and polio.

P.S. I like Anna also.

Yes, and kissing the real Anna Paquin will not kill you, and is fractionally more likely than kissing Rogue. It's a win-win!

that's probably even more worth it! ;)

I was going to say that!

EDIT: Or I would have been if I had read this thread more carefully first time through
