Girl Genius d20

I just discovered the Girl Genius comic and would love to do some gaming in the world. I was thinking of doing some leg work in making either a d20 or Savage Worlds rendition of the world, but wanted to know if anyone else had done so already so I could save myself the hassle.

With d20 would need a whole new class for those with the "spark" I don't think regular item creation feats or the Artificer class does it justice. Maybe a feat chain, so any class could be one, I mean some of the characters are bard like and some are pure fighters with the "spark".

I don't know of anyone's GGD20 project...

But you might find some useful info in products like Iron Kingdoms, Dragonmech, and even Eberron.

You may want to look at the Natural Philosophers and invention rules of Northern Crown. You'd have to flub the setting-specific stuff, of course. Or you could just wait for the official Girl Genius RPG (it is supposed to be a standalone RPG powered by GURPS Lite, in the vein of the Hellboy RPG and Sourcebook)

Actually OGL Wild West has all of that, too, in a more contemporary setting.

I would also make good use of Mechamancy and Chaositech. It could be done as d20. It would require taking out a lot of the magic rules, and substituting Spark inventions and the like. May be done easier using True20.

Personally I'd use Mutants and Masterminds, but then, I always use Mutants and Masterminds.
