Githyanki PC???

Just curious.

I was looking at playing a Githyanki as my PC.
But How do you work out what class lvl its equivalent too? What are the rules for that?


Also, what do you think, about if they don't have the psionic powers at will, and PR, would it be the same as playing a human(in class level terms).

Also, what else do you know about the githyanki, ie, how long do they live, what do they talk like, though he is being raised by elves, so that would influence it.

How do you think they would be received walking around?

Just any information in general would be good.

Githyanki from the manual of the planes, or Githyanki from the Psionics Handbook? There's a few minor differences between the two. The MotP version is listed as ECL 2, but uses slightly more powerful equivelents of the psi-powers used by the PsiH Githyanki.

Without the powers and the MR/PR, you're essentially walking around with a human that has a few stat bonuses. Nothing much interesting.

As for how they'd be received walking around, well, it's probably a campaign element. Most worlds have probably been on the recieving end of a githyanki raid or two, but they may well be rare. THe character would look freaky and weird, so he'd probably move from being a source of curiousity, to being shunned, to being run out of town. All in all, it's a hard thing to be general about.

Even though its second edition, a good sourcebook for Githyanki was the Planescape ' Guide to the Astral '. It talks about their culture, and gives some ideas for Githyanki PCs. Of course, it's for Planescape, which is pretty broad-reaching, but its a good read.
