D&D 5E Glabagool mount

If an acidic creature that feeds through osmosis offers to give you a piggy-back, you are sorely mistaken if you think it is your friend. It just thinks you are an idiot and that you just might fall for it :) It figures it is worth a try at least.

That being said, I see riding one more like surfing the wave. You get large metal shield and ride the wave to victory.

Hmmm

Just the other day an NPC idea had come to mind unbidden. An ogre, Druk, had been subjected to the vilest of curse by a sadistic wizard: The gift of intelligence.

It had been happy smashing stuff, it's biggest worry being "what's for dinner?". Now suddenly troubling questions like "what is the meaning of life" or "you know, why don't we *talk* to these people? Maybe they would give us the food?" started popping up. Now our poor ogre was dissatisfied with life - and kicked out of the tribe for being a snooty smarty pants using two syllable words. Lonely and upset, it crossed the great mountain range in search of answers - and found them in an ancient monastery, where it learned the ancient wisdom of the monks who resided within and finally found peace. Now, the legend of Druk, the contemplative Ogre, grows...

Now that I know about Glabadool the "wizard" (the rogue? the bard? Help me out here!) gelatinous cube, I can't help but wonder what a monstrous party would look like :D

Ok WTF! Now that's out the way sanctuary spell may work could also make an acid immunity spell? I'm afb but don't cubes only have a 10ft move? Sounds like a poor mount

Glabagool would never betray us.

My PCs are likely going to meet Glabagool next session, and I plan to use the voice and mannerisms of this guy for him, adding in the "charm" of an ooze who has only very recently become sentient:

I'm going to run it that the dead drow inside of the cube was its first experience with "food" that could talk. Not knowing any better, it proceeded to eat the "food" while talking to it, only to learn that talking food stops talking after you eat it. It feels kind of bad about that, but now knows to be more careful with the PCs once it meets them.

Well, being a Black or Copper Dragonborn means you have resistance to acid. Maybe you could say that means only 1/2 of your body has Immunity to Acid. I think that would be insane enough to match this plan.
