Hyp, I'm going to have to go to automatic payments as well; without credit card numbers on file, the fine is hard to enforce.

Well, that's why I have one of my old PCs who ascended to demigodhood accompany the party everywhere as an NPC. Not only is he a useful Deus Ex Machina if I screw up some ELs, and great for making sure the PCs follow my plotlines properly, but I've established him as slightly mentally unstable and prone to occasional hallucinations.

So if a player fails to show me the proper respect, Eric the Cleric can 'accidentally' catch his character in a mistaken-identity Flame Strike.

I recommend the practice to every DM.

That seems sort of... well... heavy handed. I prefer to assign diseases. This also has the extra benefit of letting the high-lvl paladins feel valued, since they get to use up all of their remove diseases per week.

Got it covered - I gave Eric the Cleric Contagion as an at-will Spell-Like Ability.

I should have trusted your judgment. My apologies.

Hey, don't sweat it, PC. The art of DMing is something that will come to you over time, I'm sure, but I hear you're making good progress.

No surprise on my vote either. :)

This does remind me of something my ex-wife did (one of the coolest compliments I've ever got.)

She was visiting her sister Cassie. Cassie's bf was there. She had told him that her sister's husband (me) also played D&D.

BF: Your husband plays D&D?
Ex: Yeah
BF: Well I'M a DM. You know, the DUNGEON Master.
Ex: Really? That's cool. Vic is a GM.
BF: GM? What's a GM?
Ex: GAME. MASTER. Vic's so good he's a GM, not a DM.

DM, its what you were called when I started playing and I've never been bothered enough to change. Not that I mind calling some a GM or being one myself, its just a matter of apathy.

One title I do object to though is ST.
