Of the Tile/Prop providers out there (PDF and otherwise), do you have any favorites? If so, which ones and why?

I am primarily looking for fantasy-oriented (wilderness/town/dungeon).

Thanks in advance,

Skeletonkey games / Ed Burelle's stuff, on RPGNow. Really good stuff.

All of Skeleton Key Games' stuff is excellent.

It has a slightly "cartoony" or "shiny" or "comic book" look to it-- and you can look around for more realistic representations if you like-- but Ed Bourelle is the best.

There are a few companies that are now competing in the same market-- inasmuch as a heat lamp could be said to compete with the sun.

EDIT: Check out 50 free tiles from Ed:

I dig Dundjinni for making my own. I've gotten a lot of use out of it, over time. :)

Other than that, I definitely prefer 3D stuff over 2D - I've got a small collection of dwarven forge mastermaze stuff that I have a great time playing with! :)

They're the best for three-dimensional models. I agree, Ed's tiles are fantastic for basic dungeons.

I'm not a big fan of building 3-D dungeon walls. It makes it harder for players to see what's going on, so tiles work best in that scenario.

You'll see both companys' products in action in my story hour.

RPGNow has an entire 2D buildings and terrain section linked to in the left-side list of categories on the main page. I would suggest browsing at random and seeing what strikes your fancy.

Here is the category page.

I like Skeleton Key Games' stuff too. If I played more often, I would get a copy of Dundjinni and learn how to use it.

Do a web search for Hero Quest. Their tiles are compatible with D&D (compatible in the sense that the use the same scale -- the game engine is completely different), and you should find quite freebies out there.
