This is a rather unfortunate draw. I really enjoy Hobgoblins, but at the same time, many of my favorite roguish characters have been (Whisper) Gnomes...

I...can't vote, too hard to decide.

Gnomes will win this one.

I'm OK with hobbos and monstrous races in general, but it is just an exceptionally awesome thing to turn invisible and stab something in the face when it didn't even know you were there.

I might be biased since I'm playing a gnome assassin ATM, but I think even if I wasn't, the hobs are not awesome enough.

Halflings suck in comparison to a gnome who knows how to play the archetype.

I've actually had hobgoblins as a PC race IMC for about 20 years.

I too have always had hobs as a PC race (more like Roman soldiers) over several campaigns - even half-hobs thanks to a Kalamar influence. I have never liked gnomes (well after my first few years playing anyway).

However, I love the new 4E gnomes. Perfect blend of backstory, a place in the world that plays out well with the new mechanics. The new gnome for me
