I hope -- although I'm prepared to be disappointed -- that WotC will have the gnomes-as-player-races write-up from the MM1 up on their site as a freebie (not in the members-only portion of the DI) the day the PHB1 goes on sale.

We have two gnome player characters in my Midwood campaign and I'm playing one in a Ptolus game. I know that gnomes may not be popular with everyone, but we've got more of them in my group's games than any other race.
