It isn't always supposed to be funny. Not every update has a punchline or joke behind it. Some are serious.

Oh. I saw it compared to Order of the Stick, so I presumed it was the same type of comic. Admittedly, Order of the Stick isn't that funny anymore, but Rich does try to give every strip a punchline.

Nope, more of a serious comic. I rather like it. Occasionally very funny, but mostly not. (The early ones shoot for humor more.) I gave this thread the "General" tag instead of "Humor" for a reason...

Think of it as a story hour...

I do like how Dies Horribly keeps, well, almost dying horribly.

Oh yeah, and the previous one to this update has some funny parts. It appears that these adventurers are the new characters of the dead Drizzt clones.

I just reread the comics (well the first two-thirds). Like OotS it _was_ mostly funny. Then got more "plotty". Not sure which I like better, but certainly one of my favorites. And I enjoy the art (in the later ones).
