How come Goblins and Kolbolds, small sized creatures, move at 30 when all other small sized creatures move at 20? I looked on the erratta and nothing is there, so its offical. I want to know why player races move at 20 when the same sized monster races move faster?

Dwarves (Medium Humanoids) move 20'.
Elves (Medium Humanoids) move 30'.

Trolls (Large Giants) move 30'.
Ettins (Large Giants) move 40'.

Mules (Large Animals) move 30'.
Ponies (Large Animals) move 40'.
Heavy Horses (Large Animals) move 50'.
Light Horses (Large Animals) move 60'.

What's your point?

That light horses are broken!!! And Mules get the shaft!!!

Sorry, couldn't resist. I'll go back to my padded room now.....

Gnomes move at 20
Halflings move at 20
They are the same sized as goblins and Kolbolds, why don't the goblins and Kolbolds move at 20? Why do they get to move an extra 10 feet/ round when play character races move slower and they are the same size?

Why do elves move faster than dwarves? Why do ettins move faster than trolls? Why do ponies move faster than mules?

Different races move faster or slower. It's only loosely tied to size.

What I want to know is how fast a 9th level Light Horse Monk goes if he wears Boots of Striding and Springing... :)

NA, technically you'd need an awakened Light Horse so it would be smart enough to take class levels. Plus you'd want horseshoes of Striding and Spring as horses don't like to wear boots. :D

Unless it's that horse from Pipi Longstocking...

Naturally.

Yeah, but you'd have to have them custom-made. Whereas you can find a pair of Boots without too much trouble - every second or third PC built above about 5th level has them, right? :)
