Good 8, Evil 9 - Evil wins the Exhibition!

a) Jin was not getting his Strength bonus properly added in, to the tune of effectively having Str16 (+1/+3/+4) instead of Str29 (+4/+8/+12)
b) The AoO did not get DR taken out.

So, frustrating as I'm sure this is for everyone, this is each of those rounds rerolled
Rd5 - AoO 20 - 10 = 10 Tail
Rd5 19-10 + 6-10 = 9 Bite and Wing
Rd6 27-10 + 20-10 + 29-10 = 46 Bite, Claw, Tail
Rd7 20-10 + 16-10 + 25-10 = 31 Bite, Claw, Tail

Which would be 10+9+46+31 = 96 damage to Stonemaker, leaving him at 162 - 96 = 66 hp. Huge difference, and now neck-and-neck with Jin's 65 hp.

I think that Stonemaker and Jin's tactics would have been roughly the same, though Jin might have done better optimization on his PA balance levels. I'll put it up to the competitors if they'd like to go from here, or back up and start again from scratch. If the latter, I'd suggest picking up where Stonemaker charges and Jin attempts an AoO with the tail as a logical place.

My apologies all 'round to both competitors and observers. I think I've been trying to dash out the moves too quickly while at work and using a scratch Excel file rather than spending more time both in prepping my own notes, double-checking the SRD entries, and having a better set up spreadsheet for resolution.

I'm okay with just going forth as is, with 66hp for Stonemaker. Don't worry about the mistakes Greybar. I'm sure it's not as easy as Gansk and PJSlavner make it out to be. :)

One other comment, though, on this: "Str29 (+4/+8/+12)". A 29 STR is a +9 modifier. The damage should be +4 for the wings and claws, +9 for the bite, and +13 for the tail (not including PA of course). So, you may need to add 6 more damage for the three bites and three tail slaps.

Right. Today's lunch is definitely going to be about putting more in my spreadsheet so I do less math in my head.

I'm OK with continuing, but Jin will change the mix for the next round of full attacks.

[sblock]+5 Combat Expertise and +5 Power Attack[/sblock]

I'm glad you're getting a feel for the challenge of keeping track of these high-level battles - I hope you're still having fun with it!

Correction to Stonemaker's hp from 66->60 as noted above by I2K.

Round 8.5:

Jin dances and swirls his long body around, lashing at Stonemaker even as he dodges. But in all of his swirling, he catches Stonemaker's eyes. And defiant as he might be, he is transformed into a beautiful, dancing, swirling statue... which totters off-balance and crashes to the ground before being swiftly teleported off to the Good infirmary for a stone to flesh spell from the resident half-celestial lawful good sorceror.

Maneeyac's On Deck Area is suddenly bathed with golden light, and he has the option to teleport in or enter on foot.

OOC: Good will need to choose Maneeyac's replacement in the On-Deck Area.

OOC2: Ya see, I get the dragon attack block all set up, roll the Full Attack, then realize that I need to check the gaze-avoidance and find it didn't matter. If you're curious what the spreadsheet now looks like, and what Jin would have been able to do, here it is.

Code:
Jin Xing bite	claw	claw	wing	wing	tail
Str	29	B:ToHit	1	Rolled To Hit	8	12	9	2	15	6
BAB	17	B:Dmg	0	Attack Specific ToHitB	0	-5	-5	-5	-5	-5
AC	25	PA	5	Final To Hit	24	23	20	13	26	17
DR	0	CE	5	Rolled Damage	3	5	3	5	4	4
Strength Bonus	9 Attack Specific DmgB	9	4	4	4	4	13
Total ToHit Bonus	17 Final Damage of Attack	17	14	12	14	13	22
Size Modifier	-1 Hit/Miss	Hit	Hit	Hit	Miss	Hit	Miss
				After DR (Dmg Applied)	7	4	2	0	3	0

OOC: Something about the numbers don't add up to me. I assume the "Rolled to Hit" is the actual d20 roll. "Final to Hit" should be the d20 + all the modifiers, but the ones that are less than the listed AC are still hits.

Maneeyac will teleport to 0N50E and concentrate. [sblock]Hold Monster[/sblock]

The On Deck area is filled with a medium-sized creature who resembles a noble elf.

Behind an sblock since it reveals info about Stonemaker:

Stonemaker's AC is 17. The AC in that block is Jin's AC (w/o CE). However, checking what you said made me realize that my Hit/Miss required getting a number greater than the AC rather than equal to it - the tail was listed as a "Miss" despite getting 17 as a final roll with 17 as the target.

Hey, look! An elf! I've never seen elf spelled Ghaele before - must be a local dialect.

Stonemaker feels magic wash over him, trying to force him to... nevermind - there's lion-man over there to eat up. (Passed Spell Resistance, Successful Will SV)

Round 9! Stonemaker's turn.

Stonemaker moves to 80n50e and looks readied.
[sblock] Ready to use gaze attack. I'd run towards the opponent, but I cannot reach him in one run. [/sblock]
