Years ago I was in a game. In this game I played a cleric. A priest of Chauntea to be exact. There was another player who ran a wizard. One with a fondness for Fireball, which he used on nearly every occasion.
In one session we came across an orc tribe. The wizard decided to kill them all, because he could. My cleric decided he was not going to let this happen, and managed to stop the wizard before the last four orcs died. It very nearly came down to blows between the two PCs.
The player in question had pulled this sort of thing before. Torching a forest because he felt like it for instance. He and our DM had had words about his in game behavior. The slaughter of the orcs was the final straw. The wizard's player was told to never return. My cleric wound up with an orc boy to foster.
He went on to form a group where all the PCs were evil. We got to play the good guys.
Later on another player joined the group who would end up forcing me out thanks to his behavior (a vile temper and no self control), but until then we had much better sessions than before.
