Good Archomentals

as i did in this thread, I need to identify all the sources that these 4 beings have appeared in (Ben-Hadar, Chan, Sunnis & Zaaman Rul). Can you help me?

from the other thread (and personal experience), i understand that they can be found in

Planescape Monstrous Compendium Appendix 3

Chan is mentioned in Dungeon #124, in the "Glyphs of the Wind Dukes" sidebar.

All of them are mentioned in 'Guide to the Inner Planes'.

The Planescape archomentals (evil & good) are also mentioned on the last page of Defenders of the Faith. IIRC, it says that they are not true deities and cannot grant spells.

All four are mentioned in Table II at the end of the 2E product Warriors of Heaven. That lists them as demigods, though it's the only source to do so.

They're also mentioned in On Hallowed Ground in passing on pg 53 in the section on 'Near Powers' (along with their evil counterparts, but making it clear that they were not actual deities)

They're also mentioned in the 1e Fiend Folio.

Well... I can't recall if they were statted out in the FF, but they are mentioned as being much, much stronger than the evil Archomentals.

really? i'll have to go back and re-read that. i thought the 1E MotP was the first place that mentioned non-evil archomentals...

I've just scanned it, and I can't find anything in the Fiend Folio about non-evil archomentals.

As far as I know, the word "archomental" first appeared in the 1e Manual of the Planes.

Wierd, because it's reversed in the PSMC III for some of them, with the good one being much, much weaker than the evil counterpart.

Imix > Zaaman Rul
Olhydra (on the cusp of godhood) > Ben Hadar

But on the other hand:
Yan-C-Bin = Chan

And in a reversal of the first pair:
Sunnis > Ogremach (argueably)

Hm, well it was either the MMII of the FF (can't remember for sure...) but, while the word 'archomental' may not have been used, the evil ones were definitely statted up somewhere in one of those books.

Sorry I can't be much more help than that, but I was only borrowing those books from a friend, I never actually owned them.
