Good books for d20 Modern Shadowchasers?

So it may not be what you need. For instance, if you're running a Shadowchasers game of D&D monsters coming through Shadow to horrify America, but none of them are seen as "demons" or "fiends"

Well, england actually, but yes, that's very much the feeling. Adjusting sound like it's very doable.
OK, so now 2 books on the must-buy list :D

Nobody has mentioned OGL Horror's magic system. I adopted it in Bloodlines specifically because it was more in line with "real world" magic instead of the benign D&D fantasy magic pedigree. In OGL Horror (by Mongoose), there's a cost in casting magic-- usually in the form of ability damage. Want to cast flaming knives at your enemy? Fine-- but tapping into that power lowers your CON until you can rest. In OGL Horror, magic is one of those things "mankind was not meant to know", and dabbling in those forces does not come lightly. Sounds about right for a Shadowchasers game to me!

And if I might plug our company's line of PDFs... 12 to Midnight IS modern horror.

I'll throw in my support behind the suggestions for Elements of Magic: ME (for magic) and Blood and Fists (for martial arts). I'll also add the Psychic's Handbook from Green Ronin to the list for psychic powers. These are three of my favorite d20 products date and all are well done.
