Good Gaming Memories?

Probably the strongest gaming place association in my college town is the pizza place where my group would go for lunch during marathon gaming sessions. I have mixed feelings about it, because though it was nice to go out with the group, it was horribly embarrassing sometimes to sit there as they were loudly recounting our last battle against some random demon lord while the really cute counter-girl I was crushing on looked on quizzically. The girl is long since gone, but the pizza is still good.

As for locales from earlier times, well, my hometown has been more or less bulldozed and rebuilt in the shape of a soulless American boomtown, so those few places I associate with gaming as a kid-- or any other childhood activities, for that matter-- have been banished to my slowly fading memory.

As to the original poster's question... I don't really associate any particular place with gaming, per se. Of course, since I use the ol' hometown for the setting in my Vampire: the Masquerade and my d20 Modern Resident Evil games, there are places around town that play a part in those games. When me and my lady (or whoever I happen to be with) pass by those places, I'll point them out and the role they play in my games. But passing through on a day-to-day basis doesn't really trigger an associated gaming response.

A big part of this, I think, is the fact that I don't really dwell on my past too much. I've certainly learned from it, but I'm just not that sentimental of a person.

So what about you guys? Do you have any places you strongly associate with gaming memories?

I actually played D&D outside a lot when I was in highschool. The guy who DM'd for us the most all through highschool lived in a really big house with a lot of property. They had tables outside and so we would sit out there and play (using paper weights because of occasional wind). So sometimes when I'm in a park with tables (his property was like a park - very nice) I think about gaming.

Other than that, there are no places. But there is music!

When I hear Alice in Chains ("Facelift" and "Dirt") I always think about gaming as I played those back when they were new while we gamed at another friends house. Soundgarden ("Badmotorfinger") does it for me as well ;)
