Good items for a Warlord?

What would be good magic items for a warlord. I have one in my group and he has gotten his share of weapons/armor etc. but I am looking for that special heroic-tier magic item for him. You know, the pact blade of Warlordkind...

This question is too open ended to really answer. The most important thing is: What does the player want to do? What's his "character concept" so to speak? There's nothing out there that just screams "Pick me!" if you're a Warlord. But there are lots of items and combo items that help shape a character concept. For example, if he's a brash, go get em type, (Bravura Warlord fits this) that likes to rush in to the fight, there are a lot of items that enhance Charges. Bestial Armor, Vanguard Weapons, Jousting Shield, Boots of Adept Charging, Horned Helm, Amulet of Elusive Prey, etc, all make for a nice set of equipment for this character, but the Eladrin TacLord in my party wasn't interested in that type of character at all. She's more interested in hanging back and directing the action, so things like Helm of Heros appeal to her a lot more.
So the answer is: Ask your player!
Later!

exalted armor is my insp. warlords holy grail.
until eot EACH character healed by you gains additional 1d10+chr hp (minor)
with Stand the fallen (daily 5, standard); Stand Tough (utility 6,minor)

a healers brooch (+enchancement to healing given) is a close second.
dont forget a magic heavy thrown

Actually tactical warlord stuff is more what I am looking for.

Race? Weapon Type?

TacLords should use a Reach weapon. I prefer the Greatspear from Adventurer's Vault (1d10dmg, +3 prof, reach, polearm/spear, superior weapon). Glaive is also a good choice (2d4dmg, +2 prof, reach, polearm/heavy blade).

TacLords should be wearing hide armor, which allows them to add their Int modifier to their AC.

A Battle Standard seems to be in character for them however, that or them making one of their follo... I mean party members carry one.

I haven't done alot of research into specific items yet for a TacLord.

Tactitian's Armor, from the Adventure's Vault has to be on heavy armor, unfortunately, but but it gives you an effective boost to your Int for powers/class features (other than attack bonus). That's one thing that comes to mind in terms of specific for a Tactical Warlord (and based off a quick search).

Personally, I like the combo of the Casque of Tactics combined with Guileful Switch. I'll use the Casque to trade places with whoever rolls highest, use my turn, then swap back. A real winner combined with the Combat Commander feat.

That's exactly the kind of thing I am looking for - an item that is useful to him more than anybody else. Thanks (and thanks to the others as well), that gives me a nice shopping list. Wizards are so much easier to please - just give out those staffs. :)

Sounds interesting but I don't really understand it. I do not have the Martial Splatbook, so maybe that's where I miss out.
