Hello, I enjoy creating characters and I have been trying to figure out OP subclass/class stuff for every class. If anyone has any good ones, especially for ranger, please post them here. I currently have:
  1. Bard: College of Eloquence
  2. Fighter: Echo Knight
  3. Artificer: Artillerist

Is this for 2024 d&d or 2014?

One of the most hilarious ways to build Artillerist is as a tank. Use the THP turrets, take Sentinel, and many Pipes of Haunting. If your DM allows (some don't) have many backup pipes to swap your infusions to new Pipes every morning.

The simplest OP character I know was the 2014 Battlemaster Fighter with Precision Attack manuever, Sharpshooter and Crossbow Expertise and a single hand crossbow.

A Bear totem Barbarian in 2014 that reckless attacks with Great Weapon master was also really strong.

Any well built wizard was phenomenal.

What version?

Generally battlemaster archer fighter using sharpshooter feat. Gloomstalker ranger using sharpshooter feat works well.

New revised ones its fighters and paladins using dual wielding or great weapons level 11.

Before then its Barbarian and Fighters. Rangers are multiclassed at higher levels. Hunter and fae one are decent lower levels if you rual wield. Beastmaster avoid along with gloomstalker.

Artificer is generally weak. Gets better around level 9 or 10.

Eloquent vard is strong as hell as is. Just pick the right spells.

Echo knights good at melee. Use a great weapon and the feat. Boost accuracy where you can. Talk nicely to the cleric, bard or druid for bless or faerie fire use.

Twilight Cleric is possibly the only "OP" subclass. And the only one I ban at my table.

As for Ranger, Gloomstalker for 2014.
And probably Beastmaster for 2024.

But that's up for some debate.

Might want to add peace cleric as well.

They're the two worst offenders.

Twilight a great theme as well eg moon and faerie goddesses. I have 3pp moon domain I use instead.

My ban list is flyers, silvery barbs, twilight cleric. Elven accuracy in 5.5 games may join the list.
