Good mount for a Dwarven Pally?

First Post
So I've decided to play a Dwarven Paladin but I am having trouble deciding if i want to play up the Knight on a Horse aspect of a paladin. I have a real hard time wrapping my mind around a Dwarf riding a horse underground (as most dwarves in our campaing live underground) and was wondering if anyone else had given any thought to alternative mounts for subterranean pallies.

Giant lizards are, I think, the standard. Aren't bothered by the below ground aspects, and they can stick to walls.

I usually point aboveground dwarves towards Dire goats (mountain dwelling) or Dire boars (hilly regions) as their mounts. Below ground, things get a little more complex - mounts don't really work all that well in caverns

A dire bat maybe?

If dwarves are subterranean, I'm not sure I'd even bother with a bonded mount. I don't really buy the use of mounts in an underground setting. You might see if your DM would allow you to use the celestial companion rules from the Holy Liberator PrC in Defenders of the Faith.

If you want to do it, I'd go with something that lives in mountainous regions, to better fit the outside of the typical dwarven stronghold. Bears and dire versions of badgers, mountain goats, wolverines, and boars all work pretty well as mounts.
