good news for a pleasant change

Treebore

First Post
As I believe I have mentioned before, my wife became disabled while in the military a few years ago.

We found out almost two years ago, due to the severity of her disability, that she could be forgiven her student loan debts. So after many submissions of doctor letters and forms, again and again, it has finally received initial approval, and has been forwarded to the Federal Student Loan offices for final approval. Which, according to what we have been told, pretty much means that its approved.

So $12,000.00 of debt has been lifted off of our shoulders.

Our battle with the Veterans Administration has been re-energized.

Our spirits have been given a much needed lift.

I hope this also helps everyone else with fighting their own battles. It may take years, but don't give up.

When (per my signing contract with them when I enlisted), the Army paid off my student loans, I remember how relieved I was not to have those student loans hanging over my head anymore. I know you're feeling relieved too, and that's a very nice feeling.

Treebore,

I'm glad to hear things have taken a turn for the hopeful and optimistic! Here's hoping that the trend continues for you and your family. :)

That's really good to hear Treebore :) I hope your wife is doing well :)

On a tangent I just saw Michael Moore's doc SiCKO on the weekend, and me and my buddy were choking up by the end of it. Those vets of 9/11 got better treatment in Cuba then in America! Crazy world... (Mods, my apologies if this strays too far into the political territory. If you need to edit the latter half of my post, feel free to do so)

cheers,
--Ryan
