Good norse campaign setting? Old or New?

Grapeshot

First Post
I've been using norse mythology + homebrew, and not too long ago played in a game that was norse mythology homebrew. Is there a written campaign that anyone can recommend? Old or new, doesn't matter.

Thanks.

I do not recall whether it was Chaosium or Avalon Hill, I seem to think it was AH, who put out "Vikings" in the late 80's or early 90's....Also, the old Pendragon system works well, with that type of campaign..

Bastion Press came out with a norse gods supplement. I know it came out on PDF I do not know if it came out on a hard copy. I don't know if it contained any information on running an actual norse campaign or not.

Vikings have shown to be very popular for RPGs...

Ultima Thule: Mystic Scandinavia for Ars Magica

GURPS Vikings by Steve Jackson Games

Campaign Classics : Vikings by ICE for Rolemaster

Vikings by Avalon Hill for Runequest

Land of Giants for Pendragon

HR1 Vikings Campaign Sourcebook for 2nd Edition AD&D

Ivinia for Harnworld

Frost & Fur for 3e by Monkey God Enterprises (while not a Norse campaign specifically Frost & Fur does contain quite classes/spells/equipment etc specifically aimed at quasi scandinavian cultures).

I have all of the above & have been happy with all of them. Obviously there is quite a bit of overlap between the various products so it's probably not worthwhile for most folks to pick them all up.

If you forced to go with just one I would probably pick Ultima Thule for general background information on a mythic Scandinavia (w/GURPS Vikings a close second) and Frost & Fur for 3e mechanics. However all of them will do a good job of getting you were you are going.

Avalanche has a pair of Norse books, dispite the covers (some people don't like them) they are pretty well done if a little short.

Are they better done than the Atlantis and China supplements by the same company? Is there really interesting info besides anything on the gods?

There are character options and the second one is an adventure in which the PCs have to stop Ragnorak. Its beena while since I read them so I'm not too sure exactly how they rate verse atlantis, and I liked Atlantis. Never did get the Chine one though.
