good PrC for a psion

Now that I look at it it makes sense, if you are a psion, to at least take a Slayer as a PrC. At the expense of loosing only 1 level you gain d8 hit dice, proficiency with all weapons and armor, ful BAB (good for ranged touch powers), and eventual immunity to all mind affecting powers. Not bad for giving up 1 level

Yup, I mentioned that in post #2 On the other hand, sometimes you'd prefer that 1 missing level of manifesting.

With potentially two Thralls and one cohort, that would turn the Thrallherd into the One-Man party.

Don't forget the Dragon Cohort (Draconomicon) and Landlord (Stronghold builder guidebook) feats!

As to the Psion PrC question... if you find a good one, let us know.

Dude, you're gestalt? Definitely go Metamind! On the off-levels, gestalt in Shaper so that you get full progression, plus you can manifest past the cap with the free manifesting.

I'm debating (internal monologuing, really) between Metamind and Astral Fanatic (in a Bruce Cordell book, can't remember name). Astral Fanatic does spiffy things for boosting my Astral Constructs (yeah, we ignore the lame errata of "There can be only one!")

Yeah, it's interesting how Metamind goes from utterly worthless and stupid to really interesting when you add in gestalt. The same probably goes for a lot of those PrCs tha tgive half casting--has anyone in the history of the game ever taken any of them for a caster, I wonder? Or do they only exist for the people who didn't even want the caster levels in the first place?

The astral zealot from Hyperconscious?

The constructor PrC I mentioned above is like the astral zealot, but a bit better IMO. It concentrates on astral construct & doesn't bother with the other uses of ectoplasm that the AZ does. IIRC, both lose two manifester levels. But if you can, take both.
