Good SWd20 adventures?

I'm looking for a SWd20 adventure that'll make for a good four-hour one-shot using Episode IV/V/VI era PCs. Any of the free adventures released on the WotC site fit the bill? Any that you particularly enjoyed? TIA.

I think I see why there were so few to come fowad with recommendations. I ewnt rhought all of the Rebellion-era adventures and they were all pretty, well, weak. Acting as hired assasins, guarding a "jizz" (ugh) band, an amusement park, running around the criminal underworld... none of them seemed very "Star Wars" to me. Finding one that actually involved stormtroopers took some effort. The players were somewhat disappointed, though they had fun in general.

Is this something in the license, or a by-product of the whole SW universe revolving around Luke and Vader? I like the SWd20 rules a lot, but I have to wonder if the best way to run a game is to just pretend the films never happened.

I was in a Star Wars campaign for about a year. I don't think the GM touched an adventure module. He prepared the whole thing himself based on his understand of the universe.

It felt very star-warsy. Set about a year before the Battle of Yauvin (sp?). We were a bunch of aliens pressed into the service of the empire as spies and such. So everyone wanted to kill us, the empire was waiting for the opportune moment to betray us, and every session we learned more that indicated survival would be unlikely.

It was a very dark campaign that way. I think if you want four hours of Star Wars, you should make a short list of what the universe is to you. Not what the movies were- what aspects of the universe are unique. Then use that.

My list would look like this, just as a start: You need droids. You might need a bounty hunter. You need ship to ship combat. A desperate infiltration of some kind of base followed by a more desperate escape.

Four hours is an awfully short time to get immersed in Star Wars, but a base infiltration where it is populated by droids and defended by, say, rebel sympathizers, would be interesting.

I haven't used any of the Wizards free adventures (I prefer to make stuff up to suit my PCs motivations better), but quite a few of them should be suitable for a a one-shot. My personal favourite is the Talnar one, though that might be a bit too big to get through in 4 hours.

Hi-

Try and get ahold of the Star Wars Gamer by WoTC, I dont think its being published anymore, but it did have some great Star Wars adventures. I think Games Plus in mount prospect might have a few issues hidden on its magazine rack. But this was over a month ago when I go there during lunch on Drill weekends.

You also might want to try eBay, theres usually a couple floating around every so often.

One day I'll have to run a SW game for my group.

Well, it's all over now, so the odds of ym runing another SWd20 game are pretty slim. If I did, it'd be in my own Star-Wars-esque universe. Thanks for all the tips, though. :)
