I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade. But were I your DM I'd rule that epic-level critters are immune to Gate. The Gate spell was written before the existance of crazy epic critters, and isn't balanced (or, perhaps, is even more unbalanced. ) with their inclusion. To call epic critters, you'd need an Epic Gate spell.

But that's just me. I wish you much luck with your planar dragon goodness.

Well, luckily, #1 - my DM isn't very rules savvy (or doesn't bother to read up on stuff), & #2 - it's perfectly legal by the wording of the spell (monsters in the ELH have no special deliniation (sp?) other than that they appear in the ELH; certain great wyrm dragons look to be able to take on certain ELH monsters).

's funny, I'm looking into the choices for this spell specifically as a way to kill the DM's main NPC who's in the party (has an AC in the high 40's & saves bonuses in the low 30's), if my character has to put her down.

But that's just me. I wish you much luck with your planar dragon goodness.
