Recently, Limithron (of Pirate Borg fame) mentioned in a YouTube video how he uses video game strategy guides (among other media) as inspiration for adventures, maps, NPCs and so on. He specifically shows off the one for Assassin's Creed: Black Flag, and it looks pretty dope.
I'm not a huge video game anymore, but I still have my copy of the guides for Shadow of the Colossus and ICO -- yeah, I'm a fanboy! With games having advanced even more from those, I can only imagine there's a lot more games like Assassin's Creed that would be great inspiration, too.
So...what's out there? What specific guides (or games, in a pinch, but the guides are most important to me) are brimming with stuff that's easy to port to RPGs? I of course like D&D and Borg stuff, but I'm also into modern day supernatural horror, sci-fi/space opera, and so on.
