Goodman Games to Publish Print Edition of Book of Templates

I really hope the how to stack templates and how to use templates sections are not going to be cut- they are the reason I find it better than Advanced Bestiary.
I developed the book, and I can tell you that the "how to use" section is actually more precise and expanded, including info on speed, level adjustments, and some cool process notes for determining CR. The stacking section, unfortunately, was cut. This was largely because I felt stacking is an intutive process more than a science, given the type limits given in each template. Your imagination, knowledge of your campaign's needs, and intent are as good as some stuffy "rules."

And as an aside, we built this book with an eye toward the content in Advanced Bestiary. As such, the two books contain only a few parrallels, so you'll get value out of owning both.

If you liked the original BoT - DE for its monster-altering goodness, you'll love the print edition. Just thank Joseph Goodman and Ian Johnston for making it a reality.

That rocks on toast, with extra butter, in so many ways. :)

Are they making a 3.5 version of the book for PDF, or is there only going to be the Hardcover?

An excellent question! Yes, there will be a 3.5 version in PDF format, as well - on or about the time the print version launches - just for those who love electronical things :) It will contain everything included in the print version. An official announcement from Silverthorne Games is forthcoming regarding the new PDF product.

That's what I'm hoping, too! I've heard so many good things about this one, but never picked it up because I knew I wouldn't use it as a PDF.

Whether it comes out at GenCon or not, this is pretty sweet. :)

The BoT-DE is not only worth printing, it's worth buying a printer for.

Congrats Frilf!!

I think the editorial review of John Cooper makes this one a winner for me. I cannot stand editing gaffes in stat-heavy products (think: WOTC Monster Manuals) so I am pretty happy that a publisher is smart enough to recognize Cooper's real value-add. I will certainly look for this one at GenCon!
