[GR] Advanced books? Anyone else excited?

I'm not sure I understand the concept of these books. Unfortunatly, product blurbs are always so darn vague to me.

Perhaps someone here (or even someone from Green Ronin) could explain what, say, the Advanced Player's Handbook is all about? What's going to be in the book?

Their is, but it's not named Monsters Lore or Monstrous Lore though. :)
I stand corrected-- Br. Shatterstone is correct. Thanks

If memery serves, though, FFG's product is more similar to what GR is coming out with--sort of a handbook to adapting monsters.

Isn't AEG's Monster a book on monstrous PCs?

But everyone could see through these minor mistakes, couldn't they? :D

Ahhh yeah the last 5 posts mean nothing. :D

John, I'm not sure I don't have that Monster book by AEG. If it's like their Undead book it's mostly for the DM but this one seems to be half-and-half according to the product blurb. :)

I don't get it.

What's so exciting about these books? Seriously. Why is the Advanced Bestiary any different than Savage Species?

The blurb says "not just more of the same", but the monster book is a bunch of templates, which is just more of the same.

Not cutting 'em down. I'm interested in more tools, but the info so far really doesn't have me excited.

I like templates, and I'm a total sucker for monster books. I will probably be getting the Advanced Bestiary. I'll definately look into the other two, but with the extreme lack of detail, I'm not salivating yet.

Demiurge out.

So is this 3rd Edition AD&D ;)?

THansk for the scoop, JoeK. That's certainly a hot news item (john holds the news item like a hot potato). Gotta post that one the news site.

It'll be interesting to compare this game line TLG's 'rules light' OGL Castle and Crusade system

From the sounds of things, I don't think they will be comparable. It is my understanding that C&C will be an alternative, something you use instead of the Core books (PH, DMG, & MM), while these sound like extensions to the Core books.

In general, I really like most of Green Ronin's stuff. I am curious to see what they have in mind.
