Just out of curiosity, are there any non-superhero books in the works? M&M seems like its a good, generic system in the same vein as BESM or Hero System, but I'm not really big into superheroes and I'm too lazy to do any of the work myself.

You mean using M&M for non-supers? We're not taking it in that direction, at least not at the moment. Trying to establish the game as the supers game it was built to be before we go too crazy. :)

Crooks and Freedom City sound awesome.

What I'd really love is something along the lines of the Ultimate Powers book for the old Marvel Game. Anything like that in the cards?

We discussed it at the M&M summit but we weren't too sure we could fill up a big book and have it not seem like a rehash of the powers in the core rulebook. The game itself was designed to give you tools to create nearly any power as it is. What would you like to see in such a book that would make it distinct from what's in the core rulebook already?

I'd like a list of power effects and seperate lists of Extras and Flaws. A clarification of how Power Stunts are used in power creation would be good.

I love Mutants and Masterminds, and it is curently the game I play most (and think about most), but power creation and charcter creation have some very vague parts in them that make it sometimes very difficult to figure out how Powers, extras, flaws, stunts and feats interact with one another.

I'd also like to see a bit more differentiation of Flaws and extras...I think the utility offered (or penalty inflicted) by certain flaws and extras are not well represented by a simple 1=1=1 formula.

FWIW, I would buy a "Big Book O'Crunchy Bitz" for M&M in a heartbeat, but I'm unlikely to buy the currently announced products. Don't take this as a slam -- I don't buy products in the setting/scenario/book-o-NPCs category for ANY game, generally.

What I'd like in a hypothetical powers bookwould be, basically "More!". More core powers. More stunts. More feats. More in-depth systems for power costing. (Inlcuding cheaper or more expensive feats). Special effect variations granting small bonuses or penalties, so that someone whose armor is defined as 'crystal shell' differs from someone whose armor is defined as 'genetically engineered rhino hide'.

They all look so good....

Eyes too big... budget too small....

I have to pry my friends off Hero and try out a M&M campaign. I keep telling them there are a lot less 3 letter acronyms :)

Nicole, your post mentions a releasedate for Freedom City(March), but nothing for Crooks.

Any idea when that will be hitting the shelves (and shortly thereafeter; my shelf)?
