Grab yer towel!

I dunno. Casting aside, I think some of the spirit of the trilogy will be lost if it's done high budget. The BBC one was crap, but still somehow fitting in the utterly ridiculous sort of way.

But yesterday, Walt Disney Pictures, which had bought the rights to the novel, gave the go-ahead for an £80 million feature-film adaptation.

The British actors Hugh Grant and Hugh Laurie are vying for the lead role of Arthur....

OMFG, that is so awesome! Its about time. This is one of my favorite books! And the budget - that's an enormous budget!

Not so hyped about Hugh Grant, but Hugh Laurie would be fine with me! I loved him in the Black Adders. I think he would probably make a better Ford Prefect, but whatever.

Jim Carey - no. Please, for the love of god, no! He shouldn't even be allowed near the set of this movie. Zaphod needs to be someone like Bruce Willis, or Robert Downey Jr.

Cameran Diaz as Trillian sounds fine.

Now if only they could get John Cleese as Slartibartfast.

I'm so geeked about this, I'm going to have to go find my towel.

To quote you: John Cleese -- no. Please, for the love of God, no!

John Cleese stopped being funny when he underwent counseling.

When did he undergo counseling? Got a link?

Personally, I think he would be fine for the role. I mean we are talking about Slartibartfast, who really amounts to a bit player anyway. Of course you could always give it to Michale Palin. I think he could also do justice to the role.
