awesome, i will definitely be getting this then. it's like an antimagic, impromptu wrestling ring. cocky casters, think they can do whatever they want. not anymore! now we fight on my terms!

smart casters have lots of things. preparing for any eventuality is pretty much impossible (unless you are pun-pun or something). besides, if a caster had a tube full of shrunken rocks i could just throw the trap at them and watch them get buried under 10 tons of backfired over-preparation.

Have fun with the concept, but as I said, I'm not even sure if that suggestion is possible. I started This Thread to ask if it is.

Since a trap is intended to be a placed object, having one strapped to you might be the equivalent of having a chair or a coat rack tied across your back. Which I would totally do, if it allowed me to punch casters in the face.

sweet deal, so what you are saying is that if i tie a coat rack across my back i can wrestle casters without worrying about magic? and it doubles as a place to store my coats? awesome!! </sarcasm>

I am going to start paying attention to that thread. although, my idea is to simply toss the trap down on the ground near the person i am grappling. to make it at least a little less effective and more balanced.

That makes a bit more sense. Plenty of traps can be carried and placed, and this one doesn't need to be set.

Tossing it down and then taunting someone to approach could be cool. Grappling the opponent, than dragging them to the trap could be cool.

Not necessarily, although it's likely. One interpretation is that even when Shrink Item ends, the boulder is still shrunk within the tube because it's not allowed to break it. It's technically not under the spell anymore, and thus not susceptible to an AMF. Of course, one might say the boulders are permanently shrunk, but that leaves the issue of everything being permanently shrunk when it can't expand after being released from its confines.

if i had them pinned they wouldn't be able to pull out the rocks, not without beating my absurdly high grapple modifier.

My plan was to run up, grapple my opponent, then use a second attack action to pull out and drop the trap. then, depending on my level, attempt a pin or whatever. point being, there will never be a time in which they could throw shrunken boulders at me. unless there were two casters and one didn't mind throwing shrunken boulders at his friend.
