Great Cleave

Not to labor the point but Great Cleave says, "This feat works like Cleave, except that blah, blah, blah... The point being it is a modification to an existing feat not a new feat with vastly different effects.

Great Cleave + Whirlwind Attack = Dammit, I should've made this encounter bigger. I learned that in my very first 3e campaign.

Cleave - when you "drop" an opponent you get a free attack against another one.

Great Cleave - As cleave but you can use it an unlimited number of times per round.

Supreme Cleave was a class feature for the Samurai prestige class in Sword & Fist. Samurai gained Great Cleave as a free feat at 1st level and Supreme Cleave at 2nd Level.

It is that prestige class ability - not technically a feat - which allowed the samurai to take a 5' step before making a Cleave or Great Cleave attack.
