You gotta admit, though, that Xander is still the only "ordinary" person on the show. His only ability is making wise-cracks. Willow got her witch-powers, Oz was a werewolf, Giles can do magic (sometimes) and has important knowledge and experience, Spike and Angel are vampires, Anya was an ex-demon, and even Riley was the subject of secret "improvement" experiments. Xander's only real role is sidekick. It's really all he's ever been good at.

Er..., not that I follow the show or anything...
