Years ago I was running a campaign that was building to a huge climax of epic proportions.
One day one of my players came to me and said, "You know this campaign has been going great and I love it. But, its not a good idea to have the players litterally save the world. After they save the world everything else kind of seems like a let down and running your character really doesnt have the same interest any more. I mean who takes Jangor the Fighter who slew the demon of death and tromp through your average dungeon?"
I looked at him for a moment. Then I replied in one simple sentance.
"Who said you guys were going to save the world?"
