Come to think of it, Dolly Parton's, "I Will Always Love You," is up there. Not actually cool, but certainly little known.

Even though one has been omitted, I've already included 2 country starts of the seventies. I hope the pre-omission Devo reference can save my fragile indie-rock ego.

Their covers are all excellent. All the Gimmes are in (other) punk bands so most of the covers end up being 4/4. Quite peppy! They frequently make the cut for my workout playlist.

I have just made the discovery that Bad Religion's 21st C digital boy is the original and someone elses is the one I thought was the original. (?!) I know there is some new wave band that covered this in the 80's... I kept hearing it on the Radio and it definately was not the bad religion version...

Also I have just discovered that several songs (but not last kiss) done by Perl Jam are actually Covers, Apparently Crazy Mary is.

Vanilla Fudge did the original; the Supremes covered it; Rod Stewart, I think, covered it; but Kim Wilde's version is the one that does it for me...
