Green Dragon

The miniature looks pretty fugly, at least from this angle, but I think it's more a problem with the sculpt/paint job than with the design; the green dragon on the cover in that pic is much better-looking.

I, too, like Claudio's snaky green dragon design; it looks pretty darn venomous!

Agreed. SO much better than the wotc green. Though I am not that keen on how it has a bit of semblance to the metallic dragons with those fin-wings and face fins.

ok so...

my opinion on that dragon...

regardless of it's rules, roles, of combat mechanics that wizards chose for it to make it easier to use, from someone who paints, sculpts, and draws....that dragon just looks pathetic....

compared to some of the dragons in the 3.5e monster manual, and my favourite dragon pics (the aspect of ashardalon, & Klauth in the 3.0 FR book, that pic rocked, and Borys the Dragon of Tyr by Brom), that green dragon art is laughable.

The miniature looks crappy. And goofy... it smiles. Either the miniature is bad or the photographer. Neither sounds promising.

The artwork of the green dragon in the rulebook is so-so. Klaus' interpretation is far better. I like that for a "slithery dragon".

But if we're talking about WAR's art, then it's okay, but I guess WAR can take a lot of strange designs and still pass it as okay-looking, because he's a very good artist.

Cheers, LT.

Those concerns could easily be addressed in later revisions. That's what the Art Director is there for. Since silver dragons and bronze can have wings like a chromatic, I don't see why the fin-wings should be exclusive of the metallics. But with more time (remmber 60 minutes), the wings and neck frill could be made to look less like a metallic dragon and more like the real-world animals that inspired them (Flying Dragons and Frilled Lizard).
