What segment of the D&D market are you aiming at with this book? (I'm just curious what type of player or game you would see as using this book and why.)

And, the obligatory Kudos to Green Ronin for consistently making high quality products. They are always enjoyable to read and use.

The funny thing is that even after 5 years of d20, the greater mass of D&D players still keep to "official" products. Now that the d20 markeplace has thinned out considerably, we're hoping to appeal to some of those gamers and show them that Green Ronin has plenty of high quality material to offer them. This is the basic idea of the Advaned line. Big, core type rulebooks written by people like Skip Williams, with the first three keyed to the D&D core books. Not that existing d20 fans can't use and enjoy these books (of course they can) but we're hoping to convince gamers bedeviled by officialness that there's more to the d20 System than D&D.

Cool. I love the idea of expanding the D20 3.x system to last longer and be more open to expansions. Of course the only thing besides apathy that could possibly sink the idea is the next iteration. Here's hoping WOTC holds that off for a few more years.

You mention the first three books. What further expansions do you see in the future for GR? I'm a big fan of the Mythic Vistas line and such. Have you ever thought about a GURPS Yrth/RIFTS style book designed to blend the various settings and systems? A world where magic meets modern meets Egyptian gods, etc?

The next two announced products in the Advanced Series are the Advanced Gamemaster's Guide and the Advanced Race Codex. There's more in the works, but I'm afraid we're not quite ready to announce them yet.

In regards to Mythic Vistas, SpirosBlaak is on the way and Eternal Rome just went into layout.

[...], and the devastating ring of fire.

And it burns, burns, burns as the flames grow higher...

Seriously, sounds abit like a "d20 Best of", which I'd buy in a heartbeat. Now that the market is thinning, I'm hoping more "best of" type things that update and cosolidate all the best material from various books and publishers gets made.

That's the idea with some of the upcoming Advanced books. The Advanced Race Codex takes the best of our Races of Renown material, updates the 3.0 stuff to 3.5, adds a bunch of new stuff for humans, halflings, and gnomes. The Advanced Class Codex will do the same for the Master Class series.
