[Green Ronin] Announcing the True20 Setting Search

Well, you've got three months to publish two PDFs then. As long as you've done that by the time you submit, you're good to go.

Hmm. Well, that gives me something to think about.

On a completely separate note, is there a forum for errata regarding the True20 pdf anywhere, yet? I didn't see one on the GR boards, but I've noticed a couple of errors (like a feat mentioned in the feat list, but not appearing anywhere in the feat descriptions).

Or, as someone above suggested, see if you can persuade a publisher to back you. Problem with that, of course, is that the publisher would want the rights etc. (especially since there's no profit attached - there's nothing in it for the publisher otherwise). It'd just be a freelance job for you.

Yup. That's the route I'm planning to go.

And it's selling very well -- already #2 for the month! Looks like this one's a hit.

I am glad of that. I liked Blue Rose a lot --

BTW this is off thread a bit but I am really glad you teamed up with Green Ronin. I think it will be a great combo and I look forward to what you have cooking -- maybe its time to do that setting after all -- settings don't sell but maybe...

As for me, its too bad publications don't count -- I'd try my fae setting. OTOH it is just as well it nowhere near ready anyway

There's a general True20 forum here and that's probably the best place to post such things:

Thanks - I have started a thread there.

On topic, what kind of mechanics to flavor ratio are you expecting in these submissions? Obviously, the True20 rules will provide the bulk of the mechanics in the book, but will you be looking for additional Powers or Equipment that are specific to a setting? Are you interested in seeing Heroic Paths? Obviously, you want a setting that takes advantage of the True20 rules - I guess I'm just curious as to how much instruction on how to "adapt" the ruleset to the setting you would be interested in.

I'd be interested as well. It would be a heckuva lot more than WOTC ever gave out in their setting search!

This is a very cool idea. I especially like that the book will include a few different settings, and then publishers will have a springboard to publish supplements for those settings.

I see good things for True20.

Chris, I can't remember...is True20 gonna be OGL like D20? If so, that'd be cool because I like the system and wouldn't mind putting out some products that use it to switch up some of the pure D20 stuff I have been doing.

The way I see it: The mechanics are OGL, but "True20 and the True20 Logo" are not. So it's exactly like d20 and the SRD: Two seperate licenses. Except in this case GR wants to pre-approve who uses the True20 license, verses WOTC's post-publishing disapproval process for the d20 license.
