Green Ronin rip off

I was wondering if anyone else out there has gone through what I have. I ordered the Freeport series from Green Ronin Pub. I waited a month, no goods, I complained, they said they would send the goods again, guess what? It was a no show. They use the Paypal system for purchases on there site. Paypal will only help you get a refund if your problem was within 30 days ( I have been waiting for 40) STAY AWAY FROM GREEN RONIN! They will steal your money!

I have never had a problem with Green Ronin at all and in fact have found them to be better than a lot of industries (I won't say d20 publishers) out there... I think your situation is anomalous (though I'm sure Chris Pramas, head of Green Ronin) will be in to comment shortly as well.

John.. note that might very well be considered slander. Its one thing to complain about your situation, but another to outright say something like that in a public forum.


I myself have had no such problems as a normal person buying from Green Ronin... not that I'm much of a normal person... but thats besides the point. Hopefully they did a tracking on the second package that went out, and may be able to determine something from that.
 

I'm aware of John's problem. He placed his order during the time the Green Ronin staff were at the GAMA Trade Show, and missed the announcement on our front-page that there would be some delays filling orders until we got back. We noticed an unusually long lag between when the orders from that time period were filled and when they arrived at their destinations, but because we use USPS Media Mail to fill most domestic orders, we don't have a great deal of control over that.

We had quite a few queries about orders that were placed at the end of March, mostly from people who had missed the announcement that we weren't filling orders while we were away at the Trade Show. Every one of those people who asked about their orders eventually received them--the delay was in the postal system. I let John know the date his order was filled and how long it had been taking for orders to arrive. John later wrote back to say that his order still had not arrived, and I apologized, thanked him for his patience, and sent a replacement order, this time by Priority Mail, on April 26th.

Today he wrote to say he has received *neither* order and demanded a refund, so I refunded his money immediately.

I find it incredibly ironic that John decided to post that Green Ronin was "ripping him off" half an hour after sending a query to Green Ronin about his order, and within 5 minutes of receiving a full refund for his order!

Nicole,

Cheer up. You did the right thing. Give great customer service like that and it will pay off in spades 99 times out of 100. This was your nat 1. Odds are you won't toss another for quite a while.

I thought that was a very appropriate way to handle things. Maybe John just needs to go to his local gaming store and purchase things from now on. Online shopping can sometimes be a hassle, but for the most part, things work out if you have alittle patience.
 

I ordered the Character Record Folio without difficult. I believe this problem is more to do with an Abberation and impatience, than any 'ripping off' :)
 

I too believe Green Ronin rips people off. After all they did release the "Legions of Hell" and "Armies of the Abyss" WITHOUT stats for the major powers. :D

Ok- now I am just kidding around. I have never had a prob with Green Ronin at all. So saying they rip people off is a bit harsh. I believe this might just be an isolated incident. And the GAMA thing seems logical to me.

And speaking of....if the story is true about them refunding your money and then you come here AFTERWARDS and post they "ripped me off".....??? WTF????
 

I find it commendable that Green Ronin actually has the patients to deal with such a wanker. A first post and then such a ridiculous comment...

John it must be though navigating in a social landscape, with such obvious disabilities. Please choose a different social landscape to navigate through (or crash and burn)...
 

Looks like I picked the wrong day to consider starting the "first name = screen name" club! :D
