so they're amking a new continent, for use with hackmaster, in the world of greyhawk?

whatever...

Replying here instead of there ...

I think it is a noble idea....however, I think Rob Kuntz would be the one to approach to do it with EGG consulting to get it right.
I also know that might be undoable for Kenzer right now so my next best choice would be to contact the people who ran the following site as they kept thing right with the world:

http://members.bellatlantic.net/~vze33gpz/gordmain.html

Also they should look for the iuz stuff on line that was also great but I lost the Url.

I hated the Ashes boxed set and what they tried to do. I liked the fact they tried to reserect it twice since. I am surprised they didn't do it right though. I know I shouldn't be after what has been done to Forgotten Realms in 2e but I like some of the new material for it.
I think if Kenzer is already converting the old modules to Hackmaster why not redo Greyhawk....

Yeah, great. Get the people who care more about their wallet than the fans or the setting.

Sounds good to me. HackMaster is a cool game. And hey, many on the HM boards seem to think EN World is full of embittered haters of Kalamar and HackMaster; I know better than that, since I've seen plenty of praise and support for both here. Both deserve it.

About the Kurtz thing

I have editied the post and put in the correct name...too much magic practice today (i am a close-up, sleight of hand artist)
Gary Kurtz is a friend and all around awesome magician.

any way....Fourdecks what the heck do you mean man?

Allot of good information about Greyhawk is free or now costs only $5 a pop in esd form. Not that all of it is good or worth collecting but at $5 who cares.
Now .....the site I gave you is old school Greyhawk. Not this new 3e Living Greyhak that only a select few (that I know of in my area) play anyway. I thought Living Greyhawk was going to be for everybody but it turns out it is 'memebers' only and it is not accessible to just anybody. So perhaps that is the wallet comment you ment.

I like Greyhawk ...it is a fun world to play in when done correctly. It must have done something right to have lasted this long and keep rising like a pheonix time after time.

Darius - I got your e-mail. I'm on the west side. Right now, I'm playing in a Call of Cthulhu d20 campaign, so right now I'm not looking for another campaign. Thanks for asking, though.

I for one am a bit concerned about setting integrity. Greyhawk has a long and rich roleplaying tradition, being the oldest D&D setting (with the possible exception of Mystara).

HackMaster, on the other hand, doesn't take itself seriously at all, ranging from the multitude of various Fireball spells to the way the monster listings have what body parts are obviously good for magical use, to the deliberate misspellings ("gawd"), and of course, the joke modules that are based on Greyhawk material (Annihilate the Giants, Little Tomb of Horrors). All this is to say nothing about HackMaster being a form of pseudo-D&D.

Personally, thats not how I want to see Greyhawk resurrected. I'm a bit tired of seeing Oerth be the world where new games are set just for the hell of it (i.e. Chainmail). Either bring it back right or don't touch it at all.

Mysteria ?? old ??

Mysteria is reletivly new .....not very old really.
Blackmoor was the first world...
Greyhawk was the second world created for D&D and was the basis for TSR as a business (modules all set there at the begining)
Forgotten Realms was third or fourth
there was the basic D&D line that had their own world in there about the same time as the grey forgotten realms set...
then a whole bunch of new worlds came out then Greyhawk again then 3e lol with like 1000 new ones either in the works or out now. (four new world right off the bat the first year)
To me Kalamar looks like a birthright type world and I had bad experiences everytime i played in that campaign (musta been the Dm or College load at the time).
Yes Greyhawk does have a long history and yes WOTC has screwed it all up, along with Frogotten realms. It would be nice to see it return if it was done correctly. They should allow fans to help it come out right.
Oh and Chainmail ..flopped didn't it .....but it also was a second time around for it. I liked it, but I think it was trying to hard to be american style Warhammer...but that is just my opinion of it. It was based on D&D and that in turn is based on Oearth. Chainmail was the fourth book out ever, waaaayyyy back in the early 70's, and formed the original book before TSR published hardback books. Hmmmm let's see Blackmoor and Greyhawk then the Book of Eldritch Might.....then Chainmail....then......
Check out Gary and Daves pages for more information on stuff like this....history is easy to change to the way you want it to be unless you lived it....or if it is a fantasy world and you wrote it.
Too tired ...must sleep ...night all,
Darius

Not true, not true at all.

Blackmoor came first, and then Blackmoor expanded to become the Known World, which later was renamed Mystara.

Its easy to rewrite history when you don't know it, but hard to correct to people who have memorized it wrong. :)
