Grief over a review

Ah...I guess it's dirty laundry day at ENWorld forums again.

Seriously, though...it amazes me how remarkably thin-skinned people can be. Seriously...getting that upset over a four star review seems like grounds for getting therapy to me. I'm not saying that just to be mean...but because I hate to see someone who is obviously quite talented throw it away over something that basically amounts to a bruised ego.

Reading between the lines of Stuart's post, I get the impression that one 4/5 review is not really the main problem here. It seems (and please correct me if I'm wrong) that BIG have been struggling for sales (a not uncommon situation in the current market place). Given that Stuart apparently does the whole job himself he has a lot invested in the success of these products - money, heart and soul. I suppose one critical review from someone who he felt owed him some loyalty was just one more straw upon the camel's back. I also think tht as someone who's done the layout, edit as well as the writing (something I myself have to do for my own small publishing company) it's particularly hard to take criticism on the 'logistics' when so much more of your invested time and emotions goes into the actual material.

Personally I think it is a shame that such a high quality publisher stuggles for success in the marketplace, but it doesn't seem to be an uncommon occurence these days.

Why do people keep saying that Bottled Imp Games is out of the biz. I read the post where the guy "quit." So What! The web site is still up, future products are still offered and nothing is on their active forum boards about shutting the whole thing down.
