[Grim Tales] A few comments from a new reader

The ability to use an action point to "strike true" against creatures with damage reduction references the Combat section, but I wasn't able to find any references to this ability in the Combat section. Did I miss it? Also, does this use of an action point allow PCs to bypass damage reduction as it seems to imply?

That's right.

I'm wondering myself, if I've missed the paragraph, which detailes, that Grim Tales is humanocentric like d20Modern. I know, that in d20Modern the bonus feats and the extra skill point per level are already included in the numbers, but I'm not sure, if it is the same in GT. After all, it could assume, that a human gets three feats at the level and even for a Strong Hero 3+Int mod+1 skill points per level.

Huh. Why would you assume that?

Where in Grim Tales does it stipulate that humans get an extra feat or skill point?

Heck, why not just assume that humans get two bonus feats and four skill points. It's equally supported in the ruleset-- by which I mean, of course, not in the slightest.

Because the Char Generation chapter says, that characters have two feats at first level and I haven't seen a reference, that this is only for humans.

I haven't run Grim Tales in a while, but what other races are described in Grim Tales?

No other races are detailed in Grim Tales, but the creature generation chapter has a bit at the end about how to create other races with the CR system and some guidelines, as well as a CR breakdown of the core D&D races.

And, to clarify for folks, GrimTales assumes a Human base, and, like d20, the +1 SP and +1 Feat are included in the basic descriptions. One of the balancing factors for other races that you can add is: "-1 SP per level, -1 Feat" which is about -0.3 CR. The suggestion is, then, that most non-human races you build will have those limiters in place, but there's nothing saying that they have to.
