The new edition is mostly updating to 3.5, otherwise they would be doing what they have avoided so well so far...

fear not, it changes rules, not the world, although I am only a fan in this matter I know well the people involved in the Midnight line, liek Fury.

Given that they're not using the core spellcasters, and they already updated the spell lists, and most of the updates of 3.5 made the game cheesier, I'd rather they leave it as is...Midnight is cool enough already..
