Grues, Burnination, and Gnomelings: What Humorous Sources Have You Used Stuff From?

Umm, Captain Ultra in the same group with "The Flame"? Cap didn't get much done then ... that's like putting Superman in the Justice League and then letting Kryptonite Kid join!

Well, never had them on the team at the same time. Then again, last I heard/read, Doc Samson recently cured Capt. Ultra of his fear of fire.

Capt. Ultra originally appeared on the team when it consisted purely of old Marvel comics lower-tier heroes. Member such as Leapfrog (not the original guy, but his son in the suit), Blue Shield, & any other character along those lines of limited ability/power/etc.

One of the things that I've run in the past is a Marvel SAGA villains game alongside the normal heroes game (ideally, the players would help build up/develop a potentially lethal batch of future foes; and the villains' actions would directly/indirectly affect the heroes' lives). Well, the ineffectiveness of the 1st batch of villains can be summed up nicely: the original Spectacular Six (with Birdman, Cosmic Spectre, Slugger, etc.), some of the weakest/most ineffective heroes I've made, were a serious challenge for the PC villains.

No special tactics used, no methods of great cunning, nothing--the PC villains just had a hell of a time going up against these guys. Other super villains who were just as powerful (if not more so) than the PCs weren't a problem (that much, at least). However, watching the PC villains confront the Spectacular Six was like watching the Avengers clash against the Masters of Evil, or the Justice League up against the Injustice Gang--the PCs loathed these guys that much, and sadly enough, these weak heroes proved to be that much of a challenge for them!

I can't help but laugh just thinking about that.

I still intend to run PC heroes & PC villains games, but from now on, I'm only allowing the players so select some lesser-known pre-existing villains for future villains games (less characters to make, plus it's a way to revamp some of those obscure villains).

However, I am very tempted to have Capt. Ultra & the Spectacular Six (Capt. Ultra as the only actual Marvel character from comics; the rest are creatures of my creation) as a regular element IMC.

I did this in a vampire game but what the heck…

So the characters are having a meeting in a candy factory to meet with a Tzimisce vampire – a kind of vampire that can shape and reshape its flesh and the flesh of others.

So the factory is being staffed by an assortment of freaks, hunchbacks, people with one arm longer than another and so forth.

So all the freaks were all singing together.

So a taffy-pulling machine is behind the Tzimisce is making “hoompha-hoompha” sounds.

So the Tzimisce then admits to thinking about making all his helpers all a bunch of uniform midgets with orange skin and green hair.
