Grumble Grumble.

GenCon or not, man. It's threads like this that remind me how much pathological bloodthirsty homicidal maniacs love this place. :D Er... and people like me. That's it. Two. Distinct. Groups. Now pass the blades, Kae'Yoss!

Return of the Pillow Fight Sorority Girls From Hell!

Unfortunately, no links. I too am at work, and I work for The Man. And when The Man is the government, he doesn't cotton to that kind of stuff on his computers. So instead I spend the slow days on EnWorld, and other game sites (but not White Wolf, for some reason The Man has blocked that site, makes ya think), and save my pillow fight fantasies for off-work time. Well, when my wife is away.

Wow, that really sounded more pathetic and less humorous than I intended. I apologise for bringing down the mood at our Gen Non-Con party. Anyone for some Great Dalmuti?

When I used to work for the man... they felt fit to block steve jackson's website.

hrmm...

Since our regual Thursday night game is a bust (damn Gencon!) I shall be running 'The pleasure prison of the B'thuvian demon whore' for a few of my non-Gencon going friends.

Gencon is for hobiest gamers anyway.

:)

If you teach me Munchkin I'll play.
Don't ever allow people to "teach" you Munchkin. Its much easier to make all those "innocent" mistakes if you haven't quite "learned" the rules yet.

(Munchkin is a game where cheating is fine until you get caught - and how can you be cheating if you just haven't learned the rules yet?)

Experienced player: I couldn't help noticing you've been simultaneously using a one-handed "rapier of unfairness", a two handed "large rock" and a one-handed "buckler of swashing".

Newby: Are you trying to say my character doesn't have four hands? Sorry, I'm not completely au fait with the rules yet. Guess I shouldn't have been able to win those last three fights after all. Oh well, I'll know for the future.

Stinky is right. Last year I worked Gencon for a publisher and when they open up for booth setup they don't have the AC on yet. So, picture about 1k (maybe more) people running back and forth across the conventions center to the parking lot unloading stuff in 85-90 heat with no AC inside. Then add to that the 2/3 of us are overweight and/or out of shape. You only get 1hr to unload all your stuff before the parking people kick you out.

So the place already has a funk going before the doors even open. :D

Maybe I'm not so disappointed that I can't go, after all!!

I cant go because I have to work 10 hour shifts all weekend and move into my new apartment. At least Ive never been so I dont know what Im missing.

I won't be going to Gen Con as I am on a different continent. On the other hand, I don't get on the boards much on the weekends so by the time I check the boards on Monday I'll have all the "big announcement" discussions to read through.

Still, I hope everyone has a rotten time just the same! :p ;)

Olaf the Stout

Olaf, you do know that GenCon is coming to Australia right? I met the guy running it at the last (and sadly final) GenCon SoCal. I went through True Dungeon with him (and his wife I think). He gave me a little lapel pin which my Colossal Red Dragon proudly wears.
